Unlock Bootloader (UBL) of Xiaomi Redmi 9T - Hello everyone, this time I will share a tutorial on how to Unlock Bootloader (UBL) on Xiaomi Phones, to be precise Xiaomi Redmi 9T. Since this tutorial is a little long, I hope you will follow it carefully.
UBL Risks and Benefits
Every thing we do will certainly have its own risks and benefits, including the UBL which we will do on the Poco Xiaomi Redmi 9T. First I will discuss the risks first.
UBL risks
- Security has become weaker - unlocking the Bootloader will certainly weaken the security contained in the Poco F2 Pro.
- There is a possibility that the warranty is lost - The problem of the lost warranty is actually still gray, because in some cases I found that the warranty is still valid even though the cellphone is in a UBL state.
- If you take a wrong step, it can lead to Softbrick to Hardbrick.
UBL benefits
- We will get full access to modify all existing systems on the cellphone.
- Flashing / reinstalling made easier - If you have UBL we can easily Flash using Mi Flash in Fastboot mode.
- Can use a custom recovery like TWRP.
- Can root, GCam, install Custom ROMs, and install various tweaks to improve cellphone performance.
Terms and conditions of UBL Poco Xiaomi Redmi 9T
- Your Poco F2 Pro must be using the latest Official ROM Stable version (I have never tested Beta ROM) Custom ROM cannot be used for UBL.
- The cellphone number used must be still active.
- Having a Mi Account and the HP Number used on the Mi Account must be still active.
- Mi account already logged on Poco F2 Pro which will be in UBL, at least 3 days.
- Move all the data on the Poco F2 Pro. The UBL process will erase all data on your Poco F2 Pro.
- All damage that occurs as a result of following this tutorial is the responsibility of each of you.
Note. Basically all types of Xiaomi and Redmi Phones can follow this tutorial to Unlock Bootloader (UBL). Some of the cellphones that I have tried include, Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 6X, Redmi Note 7 and many others.
UBL Material Xiaomi Redmi 9T
- Xiaomi / Redmi USB / ADB Driver Installer »Download here.
- Mi Flash Unlock »Download here.
- Windows PC / Laptop connected to the Internet.
- Original USB cable or equivalent quality.
- Next you have to bring up Developer options.
Bring up Developer Options
# 1. To do this, go to settings »About phone» then tap 8 times on the MIUI Version.
# 2. Then a notification will appear. Now you are a developer !.
# 3. To enter Developer options, please go to Settings App »Additional settings.
# 4. The Developer options menu is at the very bottom.
Next you have to enable the USB Debugging option and OEM Key on the Xiaomi Redmi 9T.
Enable OEM Key and USB Debugging
# 1. To do this, go to the Developer options menu, scroll down and look for OEM Unlock, then press the button to activate it (enter the PIN you are using).
# 2. Then select Activate.
# 3. To enable USB Debugging, please continue scrolling down, look for USB Debugging and enable it. If a notification appears, select OK.
Next is to sync Mi Accounts.
Mi Account Sync
# 1. Still in the Developer options menu, please sync Mi Accounts.
# 2. Go back into the Developer options menu, Look for MI Unlock Status.
# 3. If asked for permission, select Agree.
# 4. Then tap on the Add account and device section.
Note. Don't use Wifi in this step, you have to use Internet data from the card installed on your phone.
# 5. Wait a few moments until the Mi Account data syncing process is complete.
# 6. Make sure the notification that appears says "Successfully added. Mi account is linked with this device now "instead of" Could not verify. Log into your account again and start over ”.
If you have done all the steps above, please proceed to the UBL Xiaomi Redmi 9T section by using MiFlash Unlock.
UBL Xiaomi Redmi 9T Process with MiFlash Unlock
#1. Open MiFlash Unlock with the Run as Administrator option.
#2. Select Agree.
# 3. Enter the associated Mi Account on your Xiaomi Redmi 9T Phone.
# 4. If so, turn off your Xiaomi Redmi 9T cellphone then enter Fastboot Mode. The trick is to press and hold the POWER + VOLUME DOWN button for a few seconds / until the Mi Bunny logo that says Fastboot below appears.
# 5. Next, connect the Xiaomi Redmi 9T to the computer using a USB cable. If the notification appears "Not connected to the phone" means that the Xiaomi Redmi 9T is not connected to a PC / Laptop.
# 6. When connected properly, the status of “Not connected to the phone” in the Mi Flash Unlock application will change to “Phone Connected”.
# 7. Then click Unlock.
# 8. Select Unlock anyway.
# 9. Poco F2 Pro (Lmi) Unlock Bootloader Process.
# 10. If the notification “Couldn’t Unlock Please unlock 168 hour later“ appears, then you need to wait 168 hours before you can continue this tutorial.
Note. The waiting time is usually different for each user.
# 11. After waiting for 168 hours, please repeat the tutorial again to UBL Poco F2 Pro, if it works on UBL, then MiFlash Unlock will look like this.
# 12. If your Xiaomi Redmi 9T Pro doesn't reboot automatically, please click Reboot phone.
# 13. Wait for the Xiaomi Redmi 9T Pro to turn back on.
# 14. Done.
Check Bootloader Status Xiaomi Redmi 9T
To find out whether your Xiaomi Redmi 9T Pro Bootloader status is truly unlocked or not, you can easily check it using the following two methods.
- Method 1 check UBL Xiaomi Redmi 9T
# 1. Go to Settings »Additional settings» Developer options »Mi Unlock status.
# 2. When the message "Device has been unlocked" appears, it means that the Bootloader has been unlocked.
- Method 2 check UBL Xiaomi Redmi 9T
# 1. Restart Xiaomi Redmi 9T.
# 2. When it starts to turn back on, look at the screen. If there is an open Padlock icon that says "Unlocked" under it, it means that the Bootloader is already unlocked.
Some Errors and Solutions when UBL Xiaomi Redmi 9T

# 7. If the Mi account synchronization on the cellphone and Mi Cloud is successful, then the GPS position displayed on the website will display your current position. Well, at this stage the cellphone bootloader is ready to be unlocked again.
