Generally, Xiaomi provides a large enough internal memory space. Only the old type, at least an average capacity of 8 to 16 GB.
However, because other specifications are high, eventually many users are encouraged to want to save large data, such as games for example.
Therefore, it is not surprising that the internal memory becomes full very quickly.
Well, when storage is full like this, of course there will be impacts.
For example, a notification message appears "low storage space", system performance starts to slow down, and so on.
Causes of Xiaomi Internal Memory Full
The main reason, of course, is because of the stored cellphone data, whether intentional or unintentional.
For example:
- Application data.
- Photo data.
- Video data.
- Game data.
- Cached data.
- And others.
Meanwhile, cache data is a system result that is automatically generated.
Everything must be checked thoroughly, so that the full storage can be cleaned again.
How to Overcome Full Xiaomi HP Storage
If you are still unfamiliar with this matter, naturally you will be confused I don't know how to clean it, where to start, and what to check.
That's why here I want to explain the steps.
I happen to be using the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, and before that, I also used the Redmi 5A. So, you know enough about the ins and outs of Xiaomi.
Broadly speaking, to clean a full Xiaomi internals is easy, really. We can do the following:
- Clean camera files.
- Delete media data from WhatsApp.
- Delete games on HP.
- Using a built-in Xiaomi cleaner.
- Using a memory card.
- Clear browser application data.
- Clear YouTube data.
- Reset HP.
- Come on, we discuss the details one by one.
1. Check your Xiaomi camera data
The file size of a photo that we take through the camera is quite large, you know.
For example, let's say that one photo is 1 MB in size, while on our cellphone there are 500 photos. This means that it can take up as much as 500MB of memory or more.
Not to mention the video. For Full HD quality, the duration is only 10 minutes, the size can be 600 MB to 1 GB. For example, there are 7 videos on a cellphone, at least 4GB of memory will be used.
Therefore, it is highly recommended to check the files produced by this camera, then delete anything that is no longer needed.
The method is like this:
- Step 1. Open Xiaomi File Manager.
- Step 2. Go to DCIM> Camera folder.
- Step 3. There are stored your photo and video files. Please delete the ones that are not needed.
- If you want, you can also delete them via Gallery.
But for me it's a bit complicated, because the appearance doesn't support deleting multiple files at once.
2. Delete Media Data from WhatsApp
WhatsApp users usually often activate the Auto Save Images & Videos to Gallery feature.
The problem is, some of them often forget that the saved pictures and videos are too many. As a result, unused data fills up internal storage.
On Xiaomi phones, we can delete WhatsApp data via Mi File Manager.
Like this how:
- Step 1. Open File Manager on your Xiaomi cellphone.
- Step 2.Swipe down and open the WhatsApp folder.
- Step 3. Next, open the Media folder.
- Step 4. There are several folders, such as WhatsApp Images, WhatsApp Audio, WhatsApp Video, and WhatsApp Documents.
- Step 5. Please check each of these folders one by one, then delete the ones that are no longer needed.
3. Use Xiaomi's Built-in Cleaner
A cleaner application can indeed help to solve some Android problems. For example, like this full memory problem.
The way this application works, is to detect and delete data that is no longer needed.
No half-hearted, this data can be detected up to more than 100 MB, or even through several GB.
Well, on Xiaomi's own cellphone, there is a built-in cleaner application in MIUI. We can use it, to optimize the internal memory so that it is relieved again.
Follow these steps:
- Step 1. Please go to Settings> About Phone> Storage> Cleaner.
- Step 2. Let the file scanning process take a few moments.
- Step 3. If so, please tap on the Clean button.
Thus, the internal memory has been optimized. You can immediately check into the File Manager to find out the results of the capacity.
By the way, after doing a general cleaning like that, you can also carry out the further cleaning process. So, later the results obtained can be maximized.
The final word
With the methods above, I managed to relieve my Xiaomi's full internal memory as much as 60% to 80%. Quite a lot, right?
This optimization can be done on all Xiaomi cellphones. Mainly in the latest version of MIUI. So, don't forget to update the system regularly, if the latest version is available.
If it is still not optimal, try asking via the comments column below. Maybe I can give you other tips.
Hope it is useful.
